With current technology, it’s easier than ever to have branded merchandise for your business. If you’re thinking about pulling the trigger on printing some items, here are some things you should consider:
1) Think about who is getting your merch.
Is it your financial backers, your employees, your partners, clients, fans, followers, or a mix of the above? Knowing the answer will determine the types of items you’re printing. Corporate types will likely want something for their office (insulated mugs or a tote bag) whereas fitness fans may want custom pattern leggings or a workout top.
2) Make it more interesting than just your logo on a t-shirt.
Logos on tees end up in the pajama drawer or worse, the trash. Think about how you can add some interesting art or catchy phrases to make your items something your employees and fans actually want to wear.
3) There’s more to merch than just mugs, tees, and key chains.
Some merch items are truly useful (insulated mugs and water bottles FTW!), and some are truly trash (we’re looking at you, stickers and keychains). Think about how you want your people to use and wear your merch before printing!
If you follow the guideline of whether someone would be excited to own and / or wear your merch, you’ll be in good shape. For more ideas, reach out to the Go To Market team here for a free consultation!
